A non-Christian approach to Christ (1)

I do not believe that Jesus Christ is nearly as concerned about what we believe as He is about the quality of our love and devotion. I sit here and repeat over and over again a modification of the prayer I read in The Way of a Pilgrim: Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on me, Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on my soul. Over and over again as I repeat this prayer I feel a beautiful sensation of cleansing of guilt and peaceful recognition of my imperfections. At this moment I feel close to the purity of my soul.

I don't know if every word in the Bible came from God. I told Jesus that I do not believe in eternal damnation and gave him my primary reasons for thinking so. I also believe in reincarnation and suspect that there are many paths to the portal. And I did not feel even the slightest sense of remonstration in response.

I write these words because I think that there are many souls who would like to explore a deeper relationship with Christ but are blocked from doing so by some aspect of the Christian religion. Not only do they wish for this deeper connection, Christ wants to have a deeper relationship with them!

Wherever you are and whatever you are doing (not in a moving vehicle) repeat with the in breath: Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on me. With the out breath repeat Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on my soul. It is helpful to spend time each day repeating this pray while sitting as well.

I feel deeply connected

It is the morning of April 16, 2009 and I feel deeply connected to my soul, asking the Divine for the ability to put in words the state of being that I am experiencing. My heart longs to be true to that Great One and not allow any form of delusion pull me away. Writing these words evokes a pure love within me; a sense of profound clarity about what matters; an ambition to live closer to the ideals that great souls embodied.

Tonight I felt as if there was no separation between myself and God; not from some hard to grasp cosmic or metaphysical perspective; more from a simply feeling of closeness, of intimacy. This intimacy was born from a visceral sense that the God within was communing to the God without. There was no sense of shame about my personality imperfections because I simply got that I was, and, at this moment am being loved.

Daily Renewal In The Sacred Sanctuary

Many people go to church to find a sacred environment where they can worship and pray without distractions. With meditation, one can learn to quiet their mind so that they can go within themselves and enter the sacred sanctuary of their very own soul; a quiet, still place where they can pray and commune in a way that is deeply personal and meaningful to them.

In this sacred inner sanctuary one can connect with the indwelling Beloved with greater intimacy. It is a place where one can express their deepest longings and receive assurance and love from the Great Beloved. It is a place where people from all walks of life can go for daily renewal.
